taking back my vehicle?

My husband moved out, unexpectedly, last Sunday. I told him tonight that I can't do this anymore. My biggest problem is this: both of our vehicles are in my name. He is still driving one. He does not have a driver's license at the moment. Everyone is telling me to go grab it while he's at work, because it's a liability/insurance issue. If he has an accident or gets a ticket, I'm screwed. I don't want to be mean. Any thoughts?

Don't worry about being mean, you need to look at for yourself. If he gets pulled over your car will be impounded and that will cost you money. Go get the car and let him figured out his transportation.

How about just cancelling the insurance on the vehicle?

Grab that vehicle while you can. The last thing you need is for him to get into an accident with it. I was just watching court tv the other day and there was a case just like this. Guy was driving his girlfriends car and caused an accident which made both of them jointly liable for the damages. So don't waste any time in getting back the car.
