I lived in Ohio for 23 years, but do to a harrassing ex I fled the state to Fl. I agreed to give my mother in law custody while I was away. I have been reading about filing divorce and it says that you have to have resided in the county at least 90 days before filing. I have been gone longer than 90 days and now I do not know what to do. I am now also worried about her having the custody if it is going to end up being a problem. Apparently social services has removed my ex from living with or taking care of the children. I want to bring them to Florida since I have a new life established, but I am not sure how to get started. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I dont know if I should start the process in Oh or now in Fl.
I hope you get along good with soon to be ex mother in law or that could be a nasty mess but if you live in florida you should file there even if it has been over 90 days.
