If my boyfriend and I get married, will my income increase his child support. We live in Massachusetts and his ex wife just told him that she would get more money. She is unbelievable. She needs to get her own life.
Yea, I think she is playing us. I called my divorce lawyer and they said that my income doesnt effect his child support. He has not been with her for 6 years and she made a comment on how he painted my house but doesnt help her out. She needs to let him go...... He just moved in with me and she cant handle it.
That's not entirely true. If you marry him, your income reduces his expenses. It may not play out that he has to pay more, but his ex can certainly petition the court.
Well, my friend's expenses were never looked at when they were at domestics- for child support. They never looked at his expenses at all. They just went off of what he made- looked at pay stubs- and went by WHAT SHE SAID for her income. It's one sided. I have heard of someone getting more due to a new spouse's income. I don't think it's fair. I feel for you on the ex not letting go. Know all too well on that one- new things in your life will cause this...until she does let go...if ever!
