You don't have to get into specifics, but is this "thing" they're blackmailing him with really something that will cause a problem, or is it only fear?
If he can "survuve" the blackmail attempt, then perhaps he can go to the cops (if they are physically threatening him, I guess).
Anyhow, what's to keep them from "outing" him (used in a general sense) *after* he's left you?
(BTW, I'm just guessing for this..never been blackmailed, myself! Just "outed".)

It's over debt, they are in cahoots with his exwife cause she wants him back and he is deliquient on the house they owned when married ...so if he leaves me (cause with me and my children) he cant afford to pay their (his parents) bills anymore ...I know it sounds totally rediculous but its the honest to gods truth ..they also have him convinced they can keep his children from him
