Hello. I am new here and have a question.

My boyfriend of over a year has been seperated from his wife for almost 4 years now. About 3 years ago, he filed for divorce from his wife. According to him, his side of the paperwork was finished and completed, but his wife failed to pay her lawyer so her side of the paperwork was not filed. I guess because of this the divorce never went through?? Does this sound possible? I don't exactly know how the whole process works...

Also, isn't there something saying that after a few years, the marriage would be dissolved anyhow?

Also, what would he have to do now to continue with the divorce? File again?

I trust what my boyfriend tells me...we've known each other our whole lives and we have been together for over a year now. I just don't know if he completely understands how the whole things works either...

Hi, After 2 years he has the right to ask the court for a hearing to get divorced. It will go before a master who is a lawyer.
