My husband and I used a mediator to negotiate a separation agreement. We signed it about six months ago and planned to file for divorce at the end of the year separation. It just came to my attention that he hid income during the negotiations. Can I now re-open our separation agreement and renegotiate certain stipulations. The income he hid would have made a difference in certain key areas.
Any help or advice in this regard would be appreciated. I have an appointment to meet with our mediator about it, but unfortunately she was not very helpful to me during the negotiations so I'm not sure I will trust all her input.
Since the divorce is not final, you can reopen anything you want to and now is the time to do it.
Mediation is effective when both parities act in good faith. Your husband has demonstrated he is not acting in good faith. Time for you to turn these negotiations over to your lawyer.
