I'm currently in an abusive relationship - not physical (not in a while) but definitely still verbal and mental. We have been married almost ten years now and he hasn't worked (steady) in about 5.
I want to leave him...but I'm afraid I'll have to pay him spouse support.
I think I've done enough supporting of him...but I'm afraid if I file I'm gonna be stuck.
Just noticed your post today. Hope you have found the answers you are looking for. If not you should contact a lawyer. Spousal maintenance is very fact specific and there is no way anyone could provide a cursory answer to the question you posted here without more information form you.
