I'll try to make this as breif and informative as possible.
I left my husband in early July. We have an 11 week old baby together. Two weeks after I left him he quit his good paying job here to move to California. He just recently got work there, working at a local Target store.
He has said that when he has resided there in California for 6 months then he is going to file for divorce there. Six months is the residency requirements in that state, but my concern is having to go to California to divorce my husband. We have no property or any other assests as we sold our home and handled everything else out of court.
I guess my questions would be would a California judge have any rights to decide upon the child custody and support of a child that doesn't even reside in the state? Would I have to go to California for my divorce?
