I've been asked to help my sister in law--unfortunately a little late. Need some advice on what we need to do. Unfortunatley, after seperating she bought a house but has no equity. Three kids are involved. She is the primary bread winner as a realestate agent. He had his own business but has since seperation, liquidated the business with minimal records (mostly cash). The house they lived in as a couple was inherited by him. He paid most of the home bills (elect, water, etc). She paid everything else. Including car payments and food. He wants to go to trial. Seems like he has positioned himself pretty good (no money, minimal job, and inherited home). However, he does have drug bust in early 90s. She has a lawyer, but he doesn't seem motivated. Probably not enough assets. The ex husband says he wants custody, half the equity of her new house (none available) and child support. Any advice.
