Divorce Support Forums: child support

I live in Nevada and have been divorced for over 11 years now. I was getting child support for 2 children at first of $1000.00 a month (500 per child). Once my son turned 18 and the child support stopped on him my ex-husband had put in the decree that the amount for our daughter would increase to $700.00 a month. He informed me that that was being very generous as Nevada has a maximum cap of $500.00. However in the 4 years since he started paying the $700 a month his income has drastically increased. He is now invested in 3 seperate Sonic franchises and receives monthly profits from them and also he got a promotion increasing his salary at work. Of course I don't know for sure what he makes at his job but have heard from our son he makes around $8000 a month gross and around $1500.00 to $2500.00 a month from the Sonics depending on how well they do. So my question is is $700.00 a accurate amount of child support to be receiving? We never went to court when we divorced and just both signed the papers he drew up and had the judge notarize it and finalize it, so as such we never have been to court since then to ever have anything changed or modified. Guess I am just really asking if it would be in my best interest to now address this with a lawyer or such.
