Filing -no contest

My husband is unhappy, he says things aren't going to improve but won't take the steps to leave and file for a divorce. I'm thinking that it will ease his conscience for me to do it. He feels guilty because I put him through school and now his income is 3x my income.

Where do I start? I don't think he will contest anything so I plan to go to an attorney with everything planned already. Can we minimize attorney fees, etc. if I tell the attorney exactly what I want to do and my husband will not argue any of it? I wouldn't be nasty or anything but I believe I should divide things fairly and make sure that I get a decent start for myself.
