My stbx is filing for divorce and wants 50/50 custody of our almost 2-year-old daughter. I was told he would still have to pay child support because our daughter is accustomed to living a certain way. Is this true? Even with 50/50 (or as close to 50% as possible) custody, is there a chance he'd still have to pay?
Just because he wants 50/50 physical custody, doesn't mean that he will get it if you don't agree to it. You need to look at your child and do what you think she can handle.

As for child support, there are instances where the parent who makes considerably more than the other parent has to pay child support. It all depends on how your state's child support guidelines.
