I guess to simplyfy, my main question is whether she started dating a persono who was already her lawyer (VEry WRONG) or whether a person she was dating happened to be a lawyer and agreed to represent her (not so wrong).
If she were dating a doctor and got strep throat, you'd not be upset if he prescribed an antibiotic for her, would you? But if she went to see the doctor for strep, and he took advantage of teh situation to get a date out of her... well, that's anotehr issue altogether.
Professional people are allowed to date... they're just not allowed to date their clients... and they're allowed to advise & help their loved ones, just not in a way that personally helps them more than their loved one (like a marriage counselor who is dating a married but separated woman, who advises her to get a divorce... NOT a good idea because that particular advice is necessarily biased, coming from a boyfriend).
But to the extent that a boyfiend or girlfriend can separate out thier romantic feelings from the advice they give (like the doc with the strep throat thing or a lawyer helping thier girlfriend write up a new will that does not include the lawyer as a beneficiary)... no problem
