I am currently paying over $1300 a month for two children 3 and 6. I also pay their insurance at $247.00 a month. My income is ~78,000 per year. My ex owns a business that grosses ~$21,000 a month. She refuses to take anymore than $250.00 per week in income. I know for a fact that if she were to look at her spending that she could easily take $500 - $750 a week. She spends like a drunken sailor. I also know that she uses money from the business for personal use and hides it so it does not show as income.
Since we were a two income family, I am now dying with all the bills. We have joint legal / physical custody and both live in Oakland county where the divorce was filed.
Oh ya, I own 1/2 the business, but here is the strange part. Prior to the divorce I was a coorporate officer. After the divorce she shutdown the coorportation and changed the name and became a sole owner small coorportation. I am a co-signer on the loan and in the divorce I am an owner of the business until she refi's.
I am at a loss because I am dying financially and she has this business but refuses to take pay from it.
