Just go to the court house and fill out the forms for DV see a judge, its that simple. If you have children it will affect them for the rest of their lives. You should just stay away from this person. Be warned the emotions will be at its highest. DV are as easy to get as getting up out of bed. If this person is truly abusive, go for it. If your emotions are high and blame them for everything, think twice. This is the most abused tactic in divorce. I hope this helps. If I sound bitter there is a reason. No proof required for Order Of Protection. The accused comes to court guilty and most prove their innocence. What a system. If this person hits you there should be proof. Scratches bruises, etc. Nobody should be physically abused. And nobody should be falsely accused.
