We don't have kids together, so I'm not sure if that wold affect my chance of getting any help from them but I may give it a shot. As far as moving counties, I'm beginning to hear little bits about a good friendship that my lawyer has with the judge in my case. It would seem like that would be good for me and the judge basically agreed to everything that my lawyer asked for but my lawyer asked for what SHE thought I should have, not what I wanted and when the hearing started, the judge immediately said that our house would be given to a receiver to be sold and the equity split, when the wife and I have been trying to work a deal out to keep the house from being sold from us. The judge had asked the wife's lawyer if I had made any offers and he said no, even though I had given two 'official' offers to my lawyer to be passed to the other side. My lawyer than told me that she hadn't given the offers to the other side because the offer that the other side had given me was 'disrespectful'. Now I find out that the court appointed receiver happens to work with my lawyer all the time and something stinks..... I need to find out how I can keep the house from being taken from both of us and sold to somebody else, by somebody else.
