Based on some of your previous posts and what you just mentioned about him being in for 22 years, I don't know the pay for an O-4 (major) off the top of my head but you may be entitled to more. Especially if you have kids at home. I was an E5 back in 93' when I went through my first divorce and paid more than $1400. Thats why I took a second job at the time. I ended up having to pay for spousal support for the first year so she could get herself on her feet. She also had the kids.
