Fla. father going for custody of year old son

After witnessing the devastation caused when my older sons were restricted from me 24 years ago, it is clear that I need to have primary residential custody to be sure that my one year old son has flexible and equal access to both parents. He is still nursing though he sleeps well through the night without his mother. I am the parent more likely to promote equal access because she prevented him from seeing me for two months without any allegations of abuse. I am looking for any resources available that might help with this cause, including free or low cost advocates.
I just reluctantly signed a mediation agreement allowing my son only 3 two hour visits per week, based on local guidelines that recommend it.
Are there resources that challenge these antiquated guidelines?
