I am active duty Navy... my husband is civilian and we have a son together. I was just recently transferred to Ohio (our son is with me) from Virginia where we were married. We've been seperated now since Nov 2006. Do I have to wait till I fullfill the residency requirments here in Ohio... or can I file in the state of Georgia, where I'm from? I think I should still be considered to be a legal resident there because I pay GA state taxes. Or do I have to physically live there? I really need some good advice... not sure where to start...
