I have to agree- in my hubby's first marriage she left with the kids after filing for divorce and rented a house. They considered it abandonment and he used it as leverage in the alimony payments. Basically- she wouldnt move back so she had 5 years of payments knocked off!!! that was 100's of 1000's of bucks she lost, but her pride was more important (and probably her sanity!)
As far as the assets- everything was even-stevens, from what he told me.
Now that I am in the "potential divorce seat", I am afraid to leave!!! I dont want to go on business travel bcs I am afraid he throw my stuff away and then "swear" I moved out!
