I am going out tonight with a man that I met online. We have talked for several hours on the phone, exchanged numerous emails, and he seems like a genuinely nice guy with a good sense of humor and a lot of integrity. He is a recent widower and nursed his wife through a terrible illness. When I compare what I know about him to my stbx and his unbalanced driven lifestyle, I feel sad about all the years I spent alone in my marriage.
I am both nervous and excited about meeting this man. All my life I think that I was looking for the extraordinary in a partner, someone who was "different",who could make life exciting and interesting. Now I just want normal, someone to share with, travel with, talk about all sorts of things with. It may not turn out to be this man, but I think he fits the definition of "normal." What a nice change that would be for me.
