Well, some dude showed up at my house this morning (6:45 AM!! luckily, I was dressed and ready for work) to repossess my stbx's truck. Needless to say, the truck wasn't there since stbx lives 10 hours away in NC. I gave the guy the correct address (which the bank has anyway. I'll never understand how big time banks who make tons of $$ can be so stupid) and sent him on his way. I did not let the stbx know they came since I would expect him to HIDE his truck in NC and make things even harder.

My issues are:
1) the truck loan is also in my name. I would have paid the past due $$ but don't have the resources right now since I've been carrying all the marital debt for the past 18 months on my own. Plus, the tax refund I was supposed to get for 2007 was automatically applied to our past-due joint taxes. Gee. Thanks. I needed that dough.
2) If his truck gets repossessed, how will he get to work and make $$? (that is if he even has a job) Would this factor into his imputable income if he "can't" work?

I really don't need this black mark on my good credit record, but part of this is my own fault since I enabled my stbx for so many years as an over spender. This might teach him he needs to be responsible for his debts but at what cost?

Has anyone else ever dealt with an ex who didn't pay their joint bills and they went to collections or repossession?

I feel like I'm drowning.
