I am going through a nasty divorce/ seperation from my husband. In the beginning when I told him that I wanted a divorce, I tried to maintain a cival relationship with him. We were living under the same roof but in seperate bedrooms. I continued to make his coffee, lunch, make his bed, set out his clothes , the whole nine. I am an unemployed housewife, mother of our 3 children, and a student. He decided to go to a lawyer and file for what he claimed was a no-fault divorce based on irreconsiliable differences. I agreed to allowing him to keep the house so that the kids would not lose their family home, and I said that I would sign a paper not seeking court appointed child support because I knew he would support the children. He has since filed for divorce based on his assumption of adultrey, pettioning the court for full custody of the kids, child supoort, the house, the car, legal fees. I left the residence to stay with my father for a few days to keep us from the continuing arguing, and he changed all the locks on the house, and stole the keys to the car from my purseleaving me without a vehicle. He is accusing me of adultrey because he refuses to see that I wanted out of the marriage because of the way he treated me and that I was no longer happy. I have phone records where he has been talking to another woman on the house phone late at night. Is there anything I can do about that?I cannot afford an attorney but one of my girlfriends has made an appt with an attorney this Friday saying she will pay the attorney's fees so I can have representation. It's like nothing I do is good enough unless I am giving him everything and getting nothing in return. What can I do? Anyone who has been through anything like this I would appreciate some advice.
