We had each of our 3 at home with a mid-wife. I concentrated on mom throughout and let the mid-wife worry about the babies.

I held her on her side for our first. It was February and -5 degrees outside. 5:10am.

Held her mostly standing for our second. Soft, warm June evening. 8:30pm. Idealic.

She was facing away sitting between my legs on the edge of the bed for our third. At one point she put her hands on my knees and pushed herself up and his head popped out. The mid-wife then told her, "Don't sit down." The rest followed soon after. 4:10am.

Dammed if I didn't pour everything I was into that woman to support, love, celebrate and encourage only to find out she never wanted to be with me to begin with. I was dedicated to her, something she could neither understand let alone reciprocate.

Yes. Everything about children is amazing. From their conception to their birth to their growing to their maturing.

Tonight, I miss the woman who birthed them.
