I have a bipolar drug addict ex. He was suppose to have 4 hours during the week and from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday but because he never cooperated with the random drug testing (which he agreed to in the custody agreement) he was moved to supervised visitation via the county family services center. He hasn't yet contacted them for their intake interview so he hasn't seen them in 2 months. I was adamant that he never have overnights with the kids as that's when he really abused his drug. I had enough proof of his drug use (rehab invoices, his own statements to the psychological evaluator, subpoenaed receipts from the drug store, etc.) that when he settled, he went along with the request because he knew that a judge would grant it anyways.
He's currently in the hospital in Michigan after totalling his car. The tox screen came back positive for his drug of choice.
