Does anyone out there know if a child spends equal time with both parents does that or can that affect the amount of child support ordered? If a visitation agreement is set up so that both sides have equal time (days & nights) with the child is it fair that the Dad would then also have to pay $500 per month in support. The child basically has 2 homes (the goal has always been to keep the situation as easy for the child as possible & not make him to have to cart things back & forth). We each buy him what he needs for each home (clothing, shoes, toys,& all the basics that every kid needs)and keep them at each of our homes. It seems that if they both provide for him equally as well as split the visitation equally than the child support should not be so high.
