Jessica, I have had some exsperance with this issue. The courts will grant the father visitation no matter what the age of the child. However, the mom can with hold by her own choice and you will have to take her bad to court. Depending on what county you are in, the police can help. For example: my soon to be ex and I moved to Preston Co. from Mon. Co. when his daughter was 9 years old. Her mother refused to let her father have visitation. When we would go to pick her up - they would be gone. The one time we finelly did get her, she was having a ball. Her mother showed up and demanded that her daughter go back home with her becouse she did not want her around MY boys. I refused to let her take her becouse it was my husbands weekend. Well she call the county police, Preston Co. police told her that we had court papers saying that he was to have her for vistation and they made HER leave and without her daughter!! But then again when we went to get her the next several times they were never home. The only thing Mon,Co. would do is to tell us to take her back to court. SO...it just depends on the county that you live in. Best Of Luck
