I am posting for my mother, because she is not sure what she can do. Her husband (my stepfather) is very emotional abusive to her and my other brothers and sisters (4 others). This has gone on for years and years and I myself have endured it most my childhood and know how bad it is.
My mother is not sure what to do. She relies on him for full financial support and tries to controll everything she does. Is there ANYTHING or ANYWHERE she can go with the kids to get away from him? She is considered disabled and can at most work a part time job due to her health. Are there any type of programs to help her get back on her feet and away from this man? Her family does not have room to take her and all 4 kids in and she does not have much money (750 monthly for disability). Will a judge try to take the kids from her because she isnt financially stable? I dont even know what questions to ask, but she really needs to get away. She is severely depressed and this has gone on too long and has finally decided its time to leave. HELP! I have moved out now and live accross the US from her so i cant do much to help. I have invited her to stay here but she cant move this far due to her health and I cant move to see her because we are military. Anyone could you please point me to some help or in the right direction?
