I live in Oklahoma, a state I prefer not to live in, but my ex-husband and his family lived here, so we moved right after we were married. When we divorced, to get away from him and his constant verbal abuse, I took a contract job in Houston, Texas for 1 year. When it was completed, I moved back to Oklahoma so the children could be raised around him and his family. I've been here for 5 years dealing with being a full-time working mother with little help from my ex other than to show up to some of the children's activities when he was in town or it suited his fancy. About a year ago, my ex-husband's company started requesting that they wanted him to move to their corporate office (which is not in Oklahoma). He always tried to avoid doing so, till last summer. He notified me he was moving out of state and was also getting married to a girl he met in July 05 from there. I recently remarried as well, and have quit working a job to take care of our 6 children (2 are mine, 4 are his). We are in the process of renegotiating the visitation (which states I live in Texas and he's in Oklahoma) so it's more accurate. However, because he is now living out of state, my attorney tells me it's a strong possibility I will have to pay for a portion of the children's travel when they visit him. I find it hard to believe that because he chooses to move out of state, I should be punished monitarily because of it? How can this be? What can I do?
