My daughter has left her husband of 11 1/2 years with their 4 children. Her oldest being hers before their marriage, of whom her husband has since adopted. They had 3 childrne together. They were living in another county here in Indiana and I brought her and the boys to our home in a different county. A day or two after she left he went into their home and destroyed or took out of the home all of her clothing that was left (which she only grabbed a handful) all of her dolls left by her dead grandmother, emptied her hopechest that was there, out and poured water in it then dish soap all over inside and out. Tore pictures in half of her and her siblings as children, and I could go on. There is more to this story, as to why she left in the first place. However, while she was here, within 8 days he has filed for divorce himself and wants full custody of the 4 children. She has since gotten herself and the boys a place to live so they could have their own rooms, enrolled the children in school so they could start a normal life again. She cant afford an attorney, so she has applied for legal aid in that county, which she qualifies for but is waiting to see if they will take her case. What if anything should she do at this point to try to keep the boys with her? Also I want to mention that he was taken into custody for an attempted suicide which was turned into the police by a counselor he was speaking to and told her about it. It all started at this point. Any suggestions or help????
