My daughter (resides in WA state) is now 18 - her last day of school is May 31st. Graduation ceremony is Friday, 6/2. The decree states support ends when child turns 18 or graduates from h.s., whichever occurs last.
Washington is telling me I have to pay support for the entire month of June. They said they don't pro-rate, and actual graduation date is 6/2, therefore that's the way it is. They don't care that seniors (the ones that have met WA requirements for a h.s. diploma) are done 5/31, they don't care that the school board picked the first Friday in June for a ceremony rather than Memorial Day weekend, at which point I wouldn't be having this discussion. So am I getting ripped?
