The First Meal You Cook for Someone Else

For a woman, there’s just something about cooking for a man. If she is not healed from the scorn of her ex, being asked to cook is asking too much too soon. She will be offended and may even add that she hasn’t cooked for another man since her husband, i.e., “What the hell makes you think I will cook for you when I just met you.”

I remember when an ex-boyfriend from high school found out I was single. At first I was flattered that he would come out and help me with a few things, but then when he said he takes payment in the form of a good dinner I nearly slammed the phone down and took out my cootie spray. The poor soul just didn’t know. He was thinking, “It’s only dinner,” and I was thinking, “Sure, first dinner, then sex”. I would have happily paid him money for all his troubles, but to cook for him turned my stomach. I ended up finding someone I could pay instead. All women aren’t like me, but at that particular point in time I wasn’t recovered enough to even toy with the idea of cooking for another man, let alone having sex with him.
